TRIADS Messy Data Meeting with Professor Christopher Lucas and Messi Lee
On March 20, Professor Christopher Lucas and PhD candidate Messi Lee will present research in the TRIADS group on "Messy" Data (e.g., text, audio, video). Professor Lucas will present a causal framework for estimating mode-specific effects of multimodal treatments. Messi Lee will present work on the biases in Large Language Models and their tendency to portray socially subordinate groups as more homogeneous than dominant groups.
The Messy Data working group provides members of the WashU community with an opportunity to learn about new developments in the analysis of unstructured data, broadly defined, including large language models and multimodal data, with a focus on interdisciplinary applications to pressing substantive questions.
All members of the community are welcome to attend, especially those interested in fostering connections across campus around a shared methodological challenge.
