AI Humanities Lab Launch

The AI Humanities Lab is a new interdisciplinary research group at Wash U, led by Prof Gabi Kirilloff (English) and Dr. Claudia Carroll (TRIADS), at the intersection of the humanities and data science. Our research is bidirectional–we 1) apply AI and computational methods to humanities research (including literary studies, media studies, history and film) and 2) investigate AI models in regards to their historical development, ideological biases, and impact on culture and the creative arts.

On Tuesday April 29th, the lab will host a launch party to celebrate the first year of the lab, and the wonderful work of our student researchers. Please join us for pizza, posters and chat about AI and the humanities. All are welcome, particularly students (both graduate and undergraduate) interested in joining the lab in upcoming semesters.
